1. About Cloobix

Cloobix is a nightlife venue discovery and booking marketplace. This page describes the data Cloobix collects and how we use it. It is written to be accurate about what actually happens today; where a topic (for example, exact retention periods or a full list of subprocessors) has not been finalized, we say so rather than invent a value.

2. What we collect

Account data. Your email address, an optional display name and username, an optional avatar and profile bio, an optional city and country, your date of birth (used to enforce the 21+ eligibility requirement and then retained as your age-verification record), your password (stored only as a bcrypt hash — never in plaintext), and standard account timestamps.

Venue claim data. When you initiate a claim on a venue listing, we record the claim itself: which Google Places venue you referenced, which Cloobix account initiated the claim, the outcome of the claim (for example, pending verification, blocked as a duplicate, or ineligible), a support ticket ID for the attempt, and the timestamps for the attempt. This is retained as an audit trail of who requested control of which listing.

Google Places business data. For each claimed venue we fetch and store the venue's public business information from Google Places, including name, address, city, state, country, postal code, geographic coordinates, the publicly listed business phone number, and the website URL. This information originates from Google Places and is publicly available there; Cloobix stores its own copy so the listing continues to work if the Places record changes.

Phone numbers used for verification. As part of the Cloobix venue verification SMS program described in our Terms, we send a one-time passcode by SMS to a venue's publicly listed business phone number when a claim is initiated on that venue. That phone number is the one already returned by Google Places for the venue; we do not ask you to provide a personal mobile number in order to initiate a claim.

Optional personal phone number. You may separately add a personal phone number to your Cloobix account. Providing a personal phone number is optional.

3. How we use it

We use the data above to operate the Cloobix service: to create and secure your account, to show and search venue listings, to process and record venue-claim attempts, to send you the transactional and verification messages the product needs to function (including the venue verification passcode described in our Terms), and to keep an audit record of who claimed which listing. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles.

4. Sharing

Cloobix does not sell your personal information and does not share it with third parties for their marketing purposes. This includes phone numbers used for venue verification: those numbers are used only to send the verification passcode and are not passed to any third party for marketing.

We do use third-party service providers to run the product itself — for example, an email delivery provider to send account-related email, an SMS delivery provider to send verification passcodes, hosting and database infrastructure, and Google Places for the underlying venue data. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and only to perform the service they provide to us.
